but even then, most of that lack of luck comes from other choices that were made along the way (to check certain sites, download certain things online, etc.). There are choices, but unfortunately there are consequences that go with it that are pretty unnecessary. I understand they don't want to reimburse items that are hijacked, or deal with other types of scams that people use to take advantage of Valve, but it'd be great to have a choice to waive the time penalty somehow, since I have to wait anyway, even using stupid authentication myself. that is basically what would be an ideal solution for me personally. I would like to have a choice to waive my rights to compensation in exchange for immunity from this dumb rule. Not nearly as much as a lot of people, but still good amounts of valuables in my inventory. I usually have a lot that could be stolen too, so I guess that's saying a lot.

Would waive my rights to the replacing anything in my account in a heartbeat in order to bypass all the braindead garbage being created lately from Valve.

Not like I use the same password for Steam and email. I've done fine with just email, and even then, I've never ever had any problems that went beyond that. Of course, I would not use anything if the stupid escrow thing wasn't mandated, since the whole thing is a waste of time for nothing I think. That's probably what I'm most upset about. If I figured, hey, what the heck, they seem okay, I'll send them the key, they can then yank the trade out from under me, so it forces a lot of innocent people to wait unnecessarily, and could backfire on people that would want to use the authenticator for whatever reason. If I don't trust them, or they are new or don't have much rep, I have to wait for their card trades to clear before I can give them whatever I was trading for. which is annoying if I've never traded with them, or even if I have. Yep, I use one for Windows, but still, if I trade with somebody else that doesn't have authentication, I have to wait.
